Hello Everyone!!!!! I hope you guys are having a great weekend! I just came back from my race and I feel GREAT!
Today’s race was the NYRR City Parks Foundation Run for the Parks 4 Miler.
I woke up at 5:45, showered, got dressed, and then Nik dropped me off at the train station, where I met my friend Wanda from the gym; who was also running the race.
We made our way to Central Park and we couldn’t have asked for a better day for a race…it was sunny, breezy, and around 55 degrees…perrrrrrrrrfect!
We made our way through the crowds….and couldn’t wait to start!
Wanda was excited!
I was all smiles!
Before I knew it, it was time to go and honestly I loved every part of this race. I am not saying that it was easy but I still loved it! Whenever I felt like giving up, I would repeat “I am a f’ing runner”. I welcomed every uphill and loved every downhill.
At one point; I had a little bit of trouble going up one of the hills and kept looking down at the ground while I was running. An older man who was volunteering noticed me and said “You look great..Take it All in” and at the moment I stopped caring so much about breaking my PR and looked up and smiled. I even imagined myself running down that very road in 2012 when I do the marathon…
These are my splits:
During the 3rd mile, I stopped to get some water…Kind of regret stopping lol.
According to NYRR these are my numbers…
And guess what? I still broke my PR! I beat my last 4 miler by 16 seconds (NYRR Time)….
After the race, I came home and was surprised by this…(Thanks babes!)
If you look close at the note he wrote “fruit salad in fridge for breakfast”
Which I enjoyed with 1% cottage cheese and Fiber One Cereal…
I will leave you with this picture that I snapped of the future female marathon runners!!!!!
Namaste…
